About Ocular Melanoma Foundation (OMF)

The Ocular Melanoma Foundation (OMF) was founded in 2003 by Grant Allen and Dr. Robert C. Allen, a renowned glaucoma specialist and Chairman of Ophthalmology at VCU/Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Allen was also an OM patient, and in confronting this relatively rare disease as both doctor and patient, he was struck by the lack of up-to-date treatment information available to patients, their families and healthcare professionals as well as the paucity of research initiatives devoted to eye cancer. OMF is today the leading organization focused specifically on eye cancer, and is committed to accelerating and enhancing scientific research, advocacy, and awareness of ocular melanoma and to providing education and support to patients, their families, and healthcare professionals. To date, OMF has raised over $3 million in its quest to see a cure for eye cancer.
