Rare Disease Ghana Initiative (RDGI) is a registered Non-Governmental Organization in Ghana which is made up of a network of professionals, patients and caregiver-organizations with a mission to improve the wellbeing and quality of life of families affected by undiagnosed and rare diseases in Ghana. RDGI brings together rare disease patient support groups, for profit and not for profit organizations, health agencies, clinical experts, researchers, emerging biotech enterprises and industry partners to take comprehensive action on rare disease in Ghana. RDGI provides enabling platform for addressing gaps in the entire continuum of rare disease management. This spans from increased knowledge and awareness, early diagnosis and prevention to best treatment practices and care, community engagement and comprehensive research. RDGI is a member of Rare Disease International, African Alliance for Rare Diseases and Rare Foundation Alliance of Global Genes. RDGI is a registered member of the West African Civil Society Organisations (WASCO) under the West African Civil Society Institute (WACSI).
