About Rare Kidney Stone Consortium

The Rare Kidney Stone Consortium (RKSC) is funded by a National Institutes of Health (NIH) grant whose primary research aim is to advance understanding of disease expression and the factors associated with renal injury in four rare kidney stone diseases: primary hyperoxaluria (PH), cystinuria, APRT deficiency (APRT) and Dent disease. RKSCs overall goal is the development of new treatments directed at protecting renal function and reducing nephrocalcinosis and stone formation.
