About VISIONS Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired

The VISIONS Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired was incorporated in 1926, is a non-profit rehabilitation and social service organization. Its purpose is to develop and implement programs to assist blind and visually impaired persons of all ages to lead independent and active lives in their homes and communities, and to educate the public to understand the capabilities and needs of blind and visually impaired persons so that they may be integrated into all aspects of community life. Visions has a particular emphasis on providing services for blind and visually impaired persons with special needs, such as frail elders, people with multiple disabilities, and persons speaking languages other than English. Services include therapeutic recreation at overnight residential camp, family support services, in-home vision rehabilitation and occupational therapy for Metro NYC residents.
