NORD, a nonprofit dedicated to helping people with rare diseases, reached a new milestone with 1 million visits to its website (www.rarediseases.org) in the past month.
“As part of our mission, NORD works tirelessly to explain rare diseases and issues affecting our community—from breaking policy news, to disease-specific information for patients, doctors and researchers, and ways to connect with others through our Member Organizations,” said Pamela Gavin, chief operating officer at NORD. “We are proud of this milestone and how it confirms the value NORD brings to help others. I look forward to what the next year holds as we continue to expand our resources.”
NORD introduced a redesign of its website in May 2015 and has seen month-over-month growth since. As part of the site’s launch, NORD created new online educational features, including “Rare Disease of the Day” and Member Spotlight stories.
The website received a 2015 American Graphic Design Award from Graphic Design USA.
