On September 8, The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced the selection of four new senior leaders at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA):
- Jared Seehafer, M.S., has been selected to serve as FDA’s first Deputy Commissioner for Technology and Artificial Intelligence
- Michael Davis, M.D., Ph.D., has been selected as Director of the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER)
- Karim Mikhail, B.Pharm, MSc, has been selected as Director of the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER)
- Bret Koplow, Ph.D., J.D., has been selected as Director of the Center for Tobacco Products (CTP)
In response to this news, National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD®) CEO Pamela Gavin issued the following statement:
