The 2020 Living Rare, Living Stronger Forum Will Now Be Presented As A Virtual Event

The current COVID-19 pandemic necessitates a new approach to many aspects of life—particularly those that involve gathering together. The health and well-being of people living with rare diseases, their loved ones and those working to improve their lives are always top priorities at NORD.

With that in mind, we have made the decision to move from an in-person format to a virtual event for the 2020 Living Rare, Living Stronger NORD Patient and Family Forum. The 2020 Rare Impact Awards will now be presented at a later date in Washington, DC, for this year only.

At NORD, we know that many of the over 25 million Americans living with rare diseases are in some way at greater risk during this pandemic. Even if travel and assembly restrictions are lifted by July, many patients, including those at-risk, may be hesitant to attend an in-person conference.

By creating a virtual environment for Living Rare, Living Stronger, we will make the Forum a truly patient-centric and even global event, accessible not only to those with the ability to travel but also those who are choosing not to, as well as those who would not have been physically able to attend.

We will be leveraging the expert knowledge of our community in developing the virtual infrastructure needed to make the 2020 Living Rare Forum a groundbreaking event. Through it all, we will maintain our Living Rare, Living Stronger objectives: networking, education, information, inspiration and fun!

Please review these frequently asked questions on the new virtual event. Thank you for your patience and support as we continue to work out the details on this change. We will be back in touch regarding registration and to share further information in the weeks to come.
